The Brown Rice Porridge

Childhood Nostalgic...
I'd loved to remember my childhood with this porridge
brought me those nostalgic moment, the flavor, the weather, the sense.
Yesterday I had this opportunity to make it for me..just spoiled myself a bit ;)
This porridge used for breakfast or even during the day dish.

Ingredients (my recipe):

250 Gr Long Grain Brown Rice ( preferable pre -cooked)
2-3 glass of water
250 ml Coconut milk
3-4 spoons cane- sugar / as your taste
a piece of salt
a piece of cinnamon
2 slice of ginger

How to prepare ;

Well so easy peasy recipe
Boil the precooked long grain brown rice with water, salt, cinnamon and ginger. If you couldn't found the precooked, you may prepare the original long grain rice one night before under the cold water.
While it start congeal, you add 3/4 of the coconut milk then keep stir n stir..remember don't let it stick on your pan.

The other side, boil the rest of the coconut milk  a few minutes only.Just to have a lukewarm coconut milk to dish up the porridge.

DONE!

Might be you would like to try an Oriental dish ;)

Dear friends, thanks so much for your visit and lovely comment. I am still trying to catch your posts.I try the best ;)

Have a beautiful week
Love
Ayu

  3. Dear Ayu,
This brown rice porridge made me smile because my husband's mother used to make something similar for her 10 kids while they were growing up. She used white rice instead, and just milk, not coconut milk, but the best part was the touch of cinnamon.....he loved it and still makes it today. I hope you are enjoying your week, my dear friend.

  4. The only rice pudding I like is Ambrosier rice pudding from a tin. LOLLL I used to eat it a lot when I lived in the UK. We can't find it where I am now and I miss it so much. Hubby would love your recipe but as I don't like cooking he won't be getting any. LOLLL Hope you enjoyed your trip down memory lane.

  9. Dearest Ayu,
Oh, quite different from our really simple plain Japanese Rice Porridge.
Ours are mainly cooked when we have a bit of trouble in our stomach. Yours must have more flavors.
Cooking these nostalgic dish and spoil ourself may be our privilege, I think(♥^_^♥)~*

Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako

    Bjinhos, doce amiga,
